Asheville Museum of Science

This small science learning focus in downtown Asheville is enthusiastic about fascinating information. See examples from around the globe, incorporating 350 minerals found in North Carolina, for example, kyanite, quartz, corundum, beryl, mica, feldspar and itacolumite, the bowing rock. Investigate the topography of North Carolina and the whole Earth. The displays cover volcanoes, tremors, plate tectonics and general geologic procedures, including those that shaped the mountains of Western North Carolina.

The Asheville Museum of Science's jewel gathering incorporates in excess of 1,000 cut gemstones from around the globe, including examples from North Carolina. Garnet, morganite, jewel, emerald, ruby, sapphire, hiddenite, stibiotantalite, tourmaline and topaz are only a portion of the stunning gemstones in plain view. See a cast of the Teratophoneus Curriei found in Utah in 2011, an awesome extraordinary granded to the Tyrannosaurus Rex.
