Silverstone

Silverstone is a town and common ward in Northamptonshire, England, maybe best known for its race circuit. It is around 4 miles from Towcester on the previous A43 principle street, 10 miles from the M1 motorway intersection 15A and around 12 miles 19 km from the M40 motorway intersection 10, Northampton, Milton Keynes and Banbury. The number of inhabitants in the common ward at the 2011 enumeration was 2,176. The A43 now sidesteps toward the south-east of the town, between the town and the race circuit. The town is recorded in the Domesday Book.

In the Middle Ages, the town exchange was basically in timber from the encompassing Whittlewood woodland using coppicing. Linnell Brothers still work a woodyard right up 'til the present time.

On the north side of the ward churchyard are the remaining parts of medieval fish lakes
