Gelt Woods

Around two miles south of Brampton is Gelt Woods, a delightful walk, and furthermore a RSPB nature holds. In the forested areas is a stone with an engraving cut by a Roman fighter in the third Century. Embracing the banks of the stream Gelt is a most noteworthy quarry.

The divider is the biggest Roman Landmark in Europe, and has as of late been assigned a World Legacy Site. Taking a gander at the size and grandure of this quarry truely brings home exactly how tremendous the divider is, and the measure of work and cash it more likely than not taken to fabricate.
