This is arguably the most magnificent structure you will see in Thailand. Situated in Bangkok, Grand Palace is the official residence of Thailand King since 1785 when King Rama I started residing here. The earliest part of the palace took only three years to build. As different kings came to power, they expanded the palace and brought it to the present size and grandeur. The most prominent among the many small structures inside the palace is Wat Mahatat, the Palace Temple and Wat Phra Keow, the Roya l Chapel. The Royal Chapel is famous for the famous statue Emerald Buddha which is carved out of single piece of jade. It is one of the most sacred statues in Thailand.
