About Malmo Art Museum

Established in 1841, the Malmo Art Museum is one of the main craftsmanship historical centers in Scandinavia. The gallery building, worked in 1937, is situated in the Malmo Castle complex in Malmo, Scania, in southern Sweden. The historical centre is represented by the City of Malmo. The gallery houses a noteworthy gathering of Nordic current and contemporary craftsmanship, now containing around 40,000 works, covering the period from the sixteenth century to the present day.

The Museum has a few critical accumulations and recorded gifts, including crafted by Carl Fredrik Hill (1849-1911). The Herman Gotthardt Collection of Nordic present day twentieth century craftsmanship is a critical commitment to the comprehension of the early generation of Scandinavian current workmanship. Additionally in the historical centre’s possessions is a special accumulation of Russian blade de-siecle sketches, gained at the acclaimed Baltic Exhibition in Malmo in 1914.

The museum has a broad gathering of furniture and craftsmanship, basically from southern Sweden.
