According to the recent reports, Kerala Tourism Department is looking to add 17 locations to the state's tourism map soon. While 52 new destinations are already been developed as tourist spots by the board under an initiative titled Kerala Destination Scheme, these 17 locations have been added to the same. These destinations are specially chosen to showcase the state's cultural and traditional richness.
Although most of these places are already frequented by the state's local population, this development initiative by the Kerala Tourism Board will help in boosting the number of foreign tourist arrivals. This will also create exceptional earning opportunities for the local communities. Chowara, the home to a number of pristine beaches and Ayurvedic centres has figured in the list of 17. Hope this will attract more travel enthusiasts from all parts of the world to this enchanting state of natural beauties.
