Located at the high place but gives mental relief and recall us ancient bravery of our Rajput ran as especially Rana Kumbha's velour and love for the motherland. The natural scenery and mountain hill denote a thrilling feeling. One should visit it in ones in a life span.

 

The District Administration Rajsamand in alliance with the division of tourism, culture and art of Rajasthan and Archaeological Survey of India is organizing a walk on the ramparts of the fort Kumbhalgarh every year in the month of November since the year 2012.


The aim of this event is to promote the rich heritage, history and culture of Rajasthan and conservation of the environment. This walk is totally into the covered forest area and very few tourists who visit Kumbhalgarh have ventured to go around this great wall. It is noteworthy that Kumbhalgarh is the second highest place on the entire Aravalli range next only to Mount Abu.


Through this walk, the lovers of nature, culture and heritage will be able to have a glimpse of the wilderness of national park and the architectural brilliance of this great fort and the mighty wall.

1. About The Walk

The walk on the fort Kumbhalgarh will take place along the Entire Area of this mighty wall. The total distance to be covered is approximately 12-15 kilometers it is the horizontal distance without measuring steep ascent and descent is 10.012 kilo meters as per the GPS. The walk is marked by steep throughout the stretch of the wall at times even up to 60° degrees. The Contestants will have to climb up and down several stairs at different intervals. An average fit person is estimated to take 3-5 hours to complete this distance.

a The prevalent weather condition.


b Training and physical fitness of the participant.


It is addressed here that this event is a walk and not a run. Any contender found running on the wall will be disqualified by the panel of judges.


Primarily this walk is organized to promote tourism towards rich heritage and culture of Rajasthan but in order to add extra excitement to the event and encourage competition amongst the participant’s several prizes have been decided.

Even the full Blazingsun couldn’t beat the participants’ determination and the administrators too played their part by providing the energy drinks and some eatables during the route of the walk. Participants will take rest in between, at the centers that were prepared for their comfort and moved on to finish their walk.

Kumbhalgarh is well connected from all major cities by transportation. It is located at just 2 hours driving distance from Udaipur. It is well connected with the capital of Rajasthan, Jaipur, by NH-48 and NH-58.

Nahargarh fort is the first of three forts built by Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh II. The fort is situated in Sawai Madhopur, in Rajasthan. It is located at the edge of Araballi, one of the largest mountains in the world. The fort offers a panoramic view of entire Pink City of Rajasthan. History says that the fort was named after the prince Nahar. It is said that during the construction of this palace his spirit troubled the area.

It is actually formed in 3 parts and every part has its specific name.  "Asirgarh"is the first part, second part is "Kamargarh" and last third part is called "Malaygarh".  Asirgarh Fort is an Indian fortress (qila) established in the Satpura Range. It is about 20 km far from north of the city of Burhanpur district of central Indian State of Madhya Pradesh. This fort situated on the apex of Satpura Mountain. Fort expands more than 60 acres area. This fort known as ‘Babe Deccan’ that means  “key to the Deccan”, which was expressed untouchable, some authors said that after triumphing this fort, ways to catch the southern area become more accessible.
