About Blyde River Canyon

The Blyde River Canyon, officially the Motlatse Canyon is a great herbal feature of South Africa, positioned in Mpumalanga, and forming the northern part of the Drakensberg escarpment. Located in the Blyde River Canyon Nature Reserve, it's far 25 kilometres in duration and is, on common, round 750 metres deep. The Blyderivierpoort Dam, whilst complete, is at an altitude of 665 metres. The canyon consists basically of red sandstone. The maximum factor of the canyon, Mariepskop, is 1,944 metres above sea degree, while its lowest point in which the river leaves the canyon is barely much less than 561 metres above sea degree.

This means that via some degree the canyon is 1,383 metres deep. While it's miles hard to examine canyons global-huge, Blyde River Canyon is one among the most important canyons on Earth, and it can be the most important 'inexperienced canyon' because of its lush subtropical foliage. It has a number of the inner most precipitous cliffs of any canyon on the planet. It is the second largest canyon in Africa, after the Fish River Canyon, and is called one of the first rate wonders of nature on the continent.
