About Sacalaz
Sacalaz is the village of house of the commune of the equal name in Timis County, Banat, Romania. The sacalaz is for the primary time documented in a diploma of December 29, 1392, in which the boundary of the border of the village Zakalhaza turned into made, a name which it saved till 1520. In 1765 the primary wave of Swabian German colonizers arrived, on the order of Maria Teresa. It issued the "Colonization Patent" of February 25, 1763 and later the Decree it submitted to the "Banat Colonization Office" in 1765, which ordered the Romanian populace to be moved to the south of Torontal, to make room for Swabian colonists.
Thus, the Romanian population of approximately 60 families is forced to abandon Sacalaz and circulate to the city of Torac inside the Serbian Banat, where they set up a new agreement. In turn, the village of Beregsau Mic become colonized with the Serbian population. The next waves of German colonizers definitively mounted the German predominance of the locality. The plans for the development of Sacalaz have been drawn on paper in Vienna, within the form of a chessboard, with the Catholic Church within the middle.
