About Copou Park

The Copou Park or Copou Gardens is the oldest public park in Ia?i, Romania. Its development began in 1834 below the reign of Mihail Sturdza, making the park one of the first public gardens in Romania and a Iasi landmark. In its centre lies the Obelisk of Lions, a thirteen.Five m tall obelisk dedicated to Regulamentul Organic, the primary law on political, administrative and juridical business enterprise inside the Romanian Principalities. Other landmarks include Eminescu's Linden Tree, the Mihai Eminescu Museum and the Junimea Alley.

The gardens are a popular destination for tourists and locals, in addition to a fave region for poetry fairs, pictures exhibitions and art and craft fairs. The park covers approximately 10 hectares and has been defined as one of the most lovely public gardens in Moldavia. Beginning with the mid-nineteenth century, Copou's new inexperienced spaces have become a fave vacation spot for nearby gentry and aristocracy, prompting the metropolis's extra modest families to keep away from the place for worry of revealing themselves to dandyish sarcasm.
