It has none of the over the top change of later Portuguese heavenly places and is orchestrated like a built-up basilica with a barrel vault held up by Corinthian segments, and with Ionic pilasters on the dividers.

There are ious openings letting a considerable measure of light into the assembly, through a lunette over the passage and leaded windows on the dividers that are done with wonderful pediments.
