About Zabrze
Zabrze is a metropolis in Silesia in southern Poland, close to Katowice. The west district of the Silesian Metropolis, a town with a population of round 2 million. It is within the Silesian Highlands, at the Bytomka River, a tributary of the Oder. Zabrze is in the Silesian Voivodeship, which became reformulated in 1999. Before 1999 it become in Katowice Voivodeship. It is one of the cities composing the 2.7 million inhabitant conurbation referred to as the Katowice urban place, itself a chief centre inside the greater Silesian metropolitan region which is populated by just over 5 million human beings.
The population of Zabrze as of December 2017 is 174,349, down from June 2009 when the population becomes 188,122. Biskupice which is now a subdivision of Zabrze turned into first noted in 1243 as Biscupici dicitur cirka Bitom. Alt Zabrze was referred to in 1295 to 1305 as Sadbre sive Cunczindorf. In the Late Middle Ages, the nearby Silesian Piast dukes invited German settlers into the territory, ensuing in growing German agreement. Zabrze became part of the Habsburg Monarchy of Austria in 1526, and was later annexed by means of the Kingdom of Prussia throughout the Silesian Wars.
