About Tychy
Tychy is a town in Silesia, Poland, about 20 kilometers south of Katowice. Situated at the southern edge of the Upper Silesian business district, the metropolis borders Katowice to the north, Mikolow to the west, Bierun to the east and Kobior to the south. The Gastonia River, a tributary of the Vistula, flows through Tychy. Since 1999 Tychy has been positioned within the Silesian Voivodeship, a province which includes 71 nearby cities and towns. Tychy is likewise one of the founding cities of the Metropolitan Association of Upper Silesia, a pan-Silesian monetary and political union shaped with the eventual aim of bringing the maximum populous Silesian areas underneath a single administrative body.
Tychy is widely known for its brewing enterprise and its global developed logo Tyskie, which dates returned to the 17th century. Since 1950 Tychy has grown unexpectedly, specifically due to put up war socialist planning rules enacted to disperse the populace of commercial Upper Silesia. The moniker Tychy is derived from the Polish word cichy, which means quiet or nonetheless.
