About Mogilno
Mogilno is a metropolis in critical Poland, located within the Kuyavian-Pomeranian Voivodeship, previously in Bydgoszcz Voivodeship. Mogilno is one of the oldest settlements alongside the border of the Greater Poland and Kuyavia historic areas. Since the turn of the 8th and 9th century till the 10th century an early-mediaeval agreement existed there, on the lengthy narrow headland surrounded by way of waters of Mogilno Lake from the west and south and marshes from the east. In 1065, a Benedictine abbey turned into based there by Boleslaw the Generous.
North of the abbey a city later evolved, which in 1398 became granted a city charter, and which become the abbey's belongings till 1773. After the primary Partition of Poland in 1772 the town have become part of the Kingdom of Prussia, and in 1920 it returned to Poland. Since 1898 till his demise in 1910 a parish priest in Mogilno's different church St. Jacob was Piotr Wawrzyniak.
