Church of Saint Andrew

The Church of Saint Andrew is an Anglican church in Tangier, Morocco. It was consecrated in 1905. The building is in the Moorish compositional style. In 1880, Hassan I of Morocco gave land to the British people group with a specific end goal to manufacture a little Anglican church in Tangier. After a congregation was constructed, it was discovered that it was not adequate for the expanding number of admirers, and another one was worked in 1894 which turned into the Church of Saint Andrew. It was sanctified in 1905. The inside is composed as a combination of ious styles, eminently Moorish. The belltower, molded like a minaret, neglects the contiguous burial ground.

Among the general population remembered in the congregation is Emily Keene, Sherifa of Wazzan 1849-1944, who acquainted the cholera antibody with Morocco. She was a British helpful who wedded the Shareef of Ouazzane, a nearby religious pioneer. She kicked the bucket in Tangier and there is a plaque in the western side of the congregation to celebrate her - her genuine grave is in the Wazzan family cemetery in the Marshan region of Tangier ignoring the Strait of Gibraltar. Those covered in the congregation grounds incorporate Sir Harry MacLean 1848– 1920, Paul Lund 1915– 1966 and Walter Harris, 1866– 1933, a British essayist.
