About Regional Museum of Guadalajara

The Regional Museum of Guadalajara is situated in the old Tridentine Seminar of San Jose.

It was worked in the late eighteenth century and emerges for its florid veneer, its focal yard and its lovely staircase.

This building had different capacities, jail and dormitory amid the War of Independence’ in the late nineteenth century was the site of a school for men and later the Museum of Fine Arts.

It was introduced as the Regional Museum in 1976 and is overseen by the National Institute of Anthropology and History.

It has lasting and transitory displays with a few paleontological and archeological pieces and different centerpieces.

The historical center is disseminated by subject, start with the historical backdrop of the earth and land periods.

In this area stands a vast mammoth skeleton that was found in Catarina, Jalisco.
