About Coacalco
Coacalco is a city and district situated in the State of Mexico, Mexico. Its name originates from the Nahuatl, Coa-coatl wind, cal-calli home and, signifying "at the place of the snake", and was first recorded in 1320. The district lies in the Greater Mexico City conurbation, and it is situated beside the northern tip of the Mexico City. The official name of its city situate is San Francisco Coacalco, and the region is named after Felipe Berriozabal.
Coacalco shapes some portion of the Valley of Mexico. It is found the site of what was at one time the city-state Xaltocan. Somewhere in the range of 850 and 1521, the district was occupied by the Toltec individuals. In the 18th and 19th centuries the important financial exercises were horticulture, cultivation and salt gathering. On 12 February 1862, the then-legislative leader of the state, General Felipe de Berriozabal marked the request pronouncing the city to be an autonomous district, finishing 343 years of reliance on the region Ecatepec.
