About Laveno Mombello
Laveno-Mombello is a comune inside the Province of Varese within the Italian vicinity Lombardy, positioned about 75 kilometres northwest of Milan and about 25 kilometres northwest of Varese. As of 31 December 2004, it had a population of 8,991 and an area of 25.9 square kilometres. The name of Laveno comes from two denominations: the first is from the Latin word "labes", meaning "landslide"; the second one denominations is from the Roman popular Titus Labienus, that supply his call to the port and in the end to the encompassing region.
