Grottaferrata

Grottaferrata is a little city and comune inside the Metropolitan City of Rome, arranged on the lower inclines of the Alban Hills, 20 kilometers south east of Rome. It has grown up around the Abbey of Santa Maria di Grottaferrata, situated in 1004. Close-by collectives comprise of Frascati, Rocca di Papa, Marino and Rome. The records of Grottaferrata distinguishes in extensive part with that of the Basilian Monastery of Santa Maria, established here in 1004 with the guide of Saint Nilus the Younger.
