About Basilica di Sant Ambrogio

St Ambrose, Milan's supporter holy person, and one-time hotshot religious administrator are covered in the tomb of this red-block church building, which he established in AD 379. It's a fitting inheritance, fabricated and modified with an intentional effortlessness that is genuinely inspiring: the original Lombard Romanesque basilica.

Sparkling holy place mosaics and a true to life brilliant altarpiece 835, which once filled in as the cladding for the holy person's sarcophagus, illuminate the shadowy vaulted interior.The second sanctuary on the privilege contains frescoes by Tiepolo.

Along the south passageway, there's some valuable fifth-century shimmer: mosaics decorate the Sacello San Vittore in Ciel d'Oro, its 'brilliant sky' arch bolstered by winged monkeys and griffins.
