About Agnosine
Agnosine is an Italian municipality within the province of Brescia in Lombardy of one 684 inhabitants. The municipality belongs to the Comunita Montana Della Valle Sabbia. In 1388 Agnosine have become a part of the territories of the Visconti di Milano 1337 to 1426 after which moved to the Quadra di Valle Sabbia. In the year 1440, the Doge of Venice Foscari gave the territory of Agnosine as a fief together with those of Odolo, Preseglie and Abbione Bione to Galvano da Nozza, who had fought in desire of the Serenissima Republic showing price most of the navy labors and had lost his son Aldreghino in warfare.
The etymology of the call is not clear and looks best closer to the XI century, probable deriving from the dialectal term Gnusen. According to others the call could derive from the Latin agnus because of this lamb due to the fact that within the vicinity herds and herds used to graze. For other commentators the name derives alternatively from the Lombard phrase agno which means alder.
