About Karim Khan Castle

The Karim Khan Castle is a citadel located in the downtown Shiraz, southern Iran. It was built as part of a complex during the Zand dynasty and is named after Karim Khan, and served as his living quarters. Fit as a fiddle it looks like a medieval post. On occasion, the bastion was utilized as a jail. Today, it is a gallery worked by Iran's Cultural Heritage Organization. Karim Khan Castle is otherwise called Arge Karim Khan, Arge Karim Khani, Karim khans' palace or stronghold of Karim Khan. Arg-e-Karim Khan was worked in 1180 AH 1766-67.

Karim Khan welcomed the best planners and craftsmen of the time and purchased the best materials from different urban communities and abroad for the development of the chateau of Karim Khan, which was immediately built. Amid the Zand tradition it was utilized by the lord as living quarters. Amid the Qajar time frame it was utilized as the representative's seat. Sovereign Abdolhosein Mirza Farmanfarma, legislative head of Fars Province, requested the miniatures in the stronghold to be redesigned. After the fall of the Qajar Dynasty it was changed over into a jail and the depictions were put over. In 1971 it was given to Iran's Cultural Heritage Organization. The remodel of the mansion began in 1977.
