Rumtek Monastery

This was originally called as Dharma Chakra Center and later was named as Rumtek Monastery.

Well, what makes this monastery stand out from the crowd? The answer to this question lies in the preserved golden stupas which belonged to the 16th Karmapa. This monastery was said to be used as a storehouse before being turned into a monastery. This monastery was built with an aim to promote Buddhism in India. This is quite sarcastic as Buddhism was originated in India. This splendid work of art is worth a visit!
