About Pragyagiri

Pragyagiri is a mountain in Dongargarh favored by information, astuteness and Goddess Saraswati. A holy land in Chhattisgarh and lord Kamsen's pride, Pragyagiri is an outstanding Buddhist goal. In the wake of visiting Sirpur, no otherworldly adventure is finished without visiting this land. The refining serenades of "Buddham Sharnam Gacchami, Dhammam Sharnam Gacchami, Sangham Sharnam Gacchami" resound from the delightful mountain.

The Nangara Hillock arranged close to the Bamleshwari Hillock parades an immense statue of Lord Gautama Buddha in a reflecting posture. This hypnotizing statue has given the mountain the name of 'Pragyagiri'. The Pragyagiri Mountain is roughly 650m tall and it takes a twisting way of 255 stages to achieve it. Consistently, the sun sparkles upon the Buddha Statue, illuminating it with beams of heavenly nature. As the brilliant beams of the sun fall upon the substance of the Lord, the entire statue lights up as a wheel of beams appear to exude from behind the head giving an impression of the Lord really showing up before sightseers and aficionados.

So charming is this sight much rush to watch the Lord Gautama Buddha with genuine confidence and dedication in their heart. As the day closes and the sun begin to say goodbye with a wonderfully painted sky, the statue of Lord Gautama Buddha appears to soften once more into the thick woods. Visitors and lovers feel sufficiently blessed to have seen this uncommon, enchanted dusk at Pragyagiri.
