Manikarnik Kund

Manikarnik Kund is located in the temple of Vishwanath Temple where resides the Shiv Linga. The most fascinating thing here in the place how two rivers merges into one entity, namely river Ganges and River Yamuna.

According to legend and mythological chapters it is believed that the ShivLinga of Lord Shiva was washed and cleaned by the two streams of water where it was believed one orginated from Ganesha’s head and the other from that of a Cow’s head. Thereby later it was believed that the water is coming from two rivers to the Kund i.e. River Ganges and River Yamuna. The sight and the scenario is awe-striking and certainly captivates the mind of every individual who visit such holy place.
