About Mahatma Jyotiba Phule Mandai

Mahatma Jyotiba Phule Mandai Marath is certainly one of South Mumbai's most famous markets. It became named after Arthur Crawford, the first Municipal Commissioner of the town. The Market changed into later renamed after Mahatma Jotirao Phule after an extended war with the aid of the President of Mahatma Phule Smarak Samiti, Mukundraoji Bhujbal Patil. The marketplace is located opposite the Mumbai Police headquarters, just north of Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus railway station and west of the J.J. Flyover at a busy intersection.

The marketplace houses a wholesale fruit, vegetable and poultry market. One quit of the market is a pet shop. Different forms of puppies, cats, and birds may be found on this area.Also, endangered species are illegally sold there. Most of the sellers within the market promote imported gadgets including foods, cosmetics, family and present gadgets. It became the principle wholesale marketplace for end result in Mumbai until March 1996, whilst the wholesale traders had been relocated to Navi Mumbai.
