Guptkashi

Guptakashi lies in Garhwal Himalayas of Rudraprayag district in Uttarkhand. The place got its popularity of the oldest residing temple, Vishwanath Temple which is the major attraction spot of the place. The place is mainly of pilgrimage site and one can see many temples and religious site hovering through the place. A famous temple is dedicated to Ardhanaresha where the speciality of the idol lies of the juxtaposition of half man and half woman which symbolizes the form of Shiva and Parvati.

Etymologically the name Guptakashi is linked with Pandavas, the pivotal characters of the Hindu Epic Mahabharata. Apart from its religious importance the picturesque view the place leaves an individual spellbound.
