The seat of Dashrath is on a small hillock in proximity, believed to be the throne of king Dashrath which known as the Dasrathchal peak. According to the mythology Lord Ram’s father, Dashrath had make penance at this place in Devprayag, called Dashrathshila near a small water stream , Shanta ; named after the daughter of Dashrath.
There are various Kunds which reside Dashrathshila like Baital kund, Brahma kund, Surya kund and also the temple, the shrines of Bhairava. Durga and Vishveshvara, and a temple dedicated to Bharata. A bath at Baithalshila is claimed to cure leprosy
