Ambutheertha

It is situated at a separation of 87 Kms from Udupi, 25 kms from Sringeri, 17 Kms from Tirthahalli, 73 Kms from Sagar and 76 Kms from Shimoga, Ambutheertha is the origination of River Sharavathi. It is arranged on Tirthahalli - Hosanagara street. The well known Jog falls is shaped on Sharavathi River. This place is situated in thick backwoods and it's a beautiful place.

Ambutheertha is likewise viewed as a consecrated place by local people who say it was here that Lord Rama pierced the earth with his Ambu bolt for water, consequently named as Ambutheertha. There is a little Shiva Temple worked over the wellspring of Sharavathi River.
