About Bekes
Bekes is a metropolis in Bekes county, Hungary. It lies approximately 10 km north of Bekescsaba and 190 km east of Budapest. The location of the existing metropolis has been inhabited given that ancient instances, due to its accurate soil and proximity to rivers. After Hungarians conquered the vicinity, Bekes and its surroundings were the belongings of the Csolt clan. Bekes was at the beginning the call of the castle which gave its name to the comitatus, and, like many castles, changed into probably named after its first steward.
Many files from the thirteenth century show that Bekes was the county seat. After 1403, while the location became the property of the Marothi own family, Bekes slowly misplaced its significance and the position of the centre of the comitatus turned into steadily taken over via Gyula. In 1566, the citadel of Gyula turned into occupied through the Ottoman military, and Bekes fell under Ottoman rule too. The Ottomans built a motte citadel inside the city, however it changed into destroyed in 1595 whilst the Ottomans needed to shield Gyula towards the Hungarians who attempted to get it returned.
