The historical backdrop of the congregation is firmly associated with the city of Hochst established in the 8th century as a little girl city of Mainz.

The primary understood narrative proof of the city dates from 790. In 1441 it turned into an ascetic church of the Hospital Brothers of St. Anthony, on the grounds that since 1419 it was just utilized as a ward church. The Antoniter request constructed the late gothic chancel and made various changes. It stopped to be a devout church after secularization in 1802.
