Konigswinter is a city and summer resort in the Rhein-Sieg district, in North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany. Konigswinter is arranged on the correct bank of the Rhine, inverse Bad Godesberg, at the foot of the Siebengebirge. It covers a zone of 76.19 square kilometers which makes it the fourth-biggest conurbation in the Rhein-Sieg district. It contains more than 80 townships and wards, partitioned over the metropolitan districts of Stieldorf, Niederdollendorf, Oberdollendorf, Heisterbacherrott, Ittenbach, Oberpleis, Eudenbach, Thomasberg and Konigswinter appropriate.
The Drachenfels, delegated by the remnants of a manor worked in the mid 12th century by the ecclesiastical overseer of Cologne, ascends behind the town. From the summit, which can be gotten to by the Drachenfels Railway, there is a view celebrated by Lord Byron in Childe Harold's Pilgrimage. A collapse the slope is said to have protected the mythical beast which was killed by the legend Siegfried. The mountain is quarried, and from 1267 ahead provided stone for the structure of Cologne Cathedral. The Schloss Drachenburg, worked in 1883, is on the north side of the slope. Konigswinter has a Catholic St Remigius and a Protestant church, some little produces and a bit of transportation. It has a landmark to the writer Wolfgang Muller.
