About Klopp Castle

Klopp Castle is a palace in the town of Bingen am Rhein in the Upper Middle Rhine Valley in Rhineland-Palatinate, Germany. In the 19th century, the bergfried like a keep from the first medieval invigorated chateau was reestablished and another structure included which houses the town's organization. The stronghold remains on a slope over the town with a wide-running perspective, which may have been the site of a Roman fortress worked by Nero Claudius Drusus at Bingium around 10 CE. Drusenburg or Drususburg was an early name for the mansion. The slope is one of three areas where neighborhood legend says that Emperor Henry IV was detained by his child in 1105 or 1106, this being the main enduring notice of a manor there.

In 1853 the gatehouse, the extension over the channel and the strongholds were remade for Ludwig Maria Cron. The bergfried was revamped as a crenelated pinnacle 26 meters high, with four corner turrets. In 1875– 79, another Gothic structure was based on the site. The designer for the two was the city hall leader, Eberhard Soherr. The base of the bergfried, the canal and parts of the southern blind divider and its chemin de ronde are the main leftovers of the medieval chateau. The remade bergfried some time ago housed the town's neighborhood history gallery, which moved in 1998 to a previous power station on the waterfront. The bigger Gothic structure has been the seat of government and mayoral living arrangement since 1897. There is additionally a gourmet eatery.
