Bohl was established in the 8th century as a Frankish town. Iggelheim had been established around 100 years before as a Christian religious circle. The two towns had a place with the domain of the German Kingdom and already to the Frankish Empire. Amid the 30 Year's War the two towns were torched by Spanish and Swedish trespassers.
