Adendorf

Adendorf is a municipality in the district of Luneburg in Lower Saxony. Adendorf is placed about 4 kilometers northeast of Luneburg's metropolis middle and has in large part grown together with the metropolis. Adendorf paperwork collectively with the neighboring towns Reppenstedt, Vogelsen and Bardowick and German Evern and Wendisch Evern a densely populated region round Luneburg of about 103,500 inhabitants. The medieval Adenthorpe become first cited in files in 1252, at that time a farming village with 18 farmsteads and a chapel devoted to John the Baptist.

It survived the 3 devastating fires of the metropolis in 1374 inside the Luneburg War of Succession, then inside the Thirty Years' War, and sooner or later in 1895, when Dragoons billeted in Adendorf and carelessly treated suits. The Johanneskapelle is today one of the oldest surviving homes inside the district of Luneburg. During the Thirty Years' War, a manor was built and became cultivated until the twentieth century, most lately as a kingdom coaching fabric.
