About Nay
Nay is a commune in the Pyrénées-Atlantiques department in south-western France. It lies in the former territory of Béarn. The fortified town Bastide was established in 1302, by Marguerite de Moncada, Viscountess of Béarn, after she had obtained the land from the Hôpital Sainte-Christine de Gabas. Nay had much to endure all through its history; the town was devastated in 1534 by a fire, of obscure inception, which totally expended the city. Shortly thereafter the religious wars took after, and in 1569, the papists pillaged the town, and the Huguenots came back with force.
Among Protestants who emigrated, Mr. Olivier, a predecessor of British on-screen character Sir Laurence Olivier. The town was well known for other kids, including De Solano, conceived in 1772, who progressed toward becoming Governor of the Manila Islands. From that point, Nay turned into an exceptionally mechanical city, spend significant time in turning, which thrived around there to such an extent, that it moved toward becoming nicknamed "Little Manchester".
