About Fortress of Suomenlinna

Fortification of Suomenlinna is a national segment and part of the UNESCO World Heritage List moreover. The beginning work of the Suomenlinna fortress in 1748 was a start by the Swedish Parliament as an insurance against Russian expansionism under the Swedish name 'Sveaborg' or 'Viapori' in Finnish.

In May 1918, the post was renamed Suomenlinna Castle of Finland after Finland's self-administration in 1917. Till date, it is a compliment in Helsinki tourism and pulls in a great measure of guests. Stronghold of Suomenlinna is a magnificent place and people wants to spend their occasions at this sort of a place.
