Undeniably a premier event on wine calendar of Cape Town, the Nederburg Wine Auction caters to the requirements of presenting an array of award-winning wines and unique Cape finds established by South Africa's most artistic winemakers together with those that have fulfilled the precise criteria of the selection panel.
It is an auspicious wine festival taking place for two days and assures to captivate the wine supporters towards the stunning assortment of 5,575 cases of 173 fine wines from approximately 80 participants. They will display all walks of country's wine world, from boutique wineries, family farms, negociants and wine estates to co-operatives and conglomerates for instance Omnia, Winecorp and Distell.
Nederburg Wine Auction and Paarl Wine Festival is a superb platform for freshers that mainly comprise different wineries associated to affluent personalities, such as the well-known French winemaker of Chablis fame namely Michel Laroche, who holds L'Avenir; merchant banker GT Ferreira, the winner of Chenin Blanc Challenge, Jean Daneel of year 2008 and many more. You may also come across some other participants which are new on the block such as De Grendel, Seidelberg, Heron Ridge, and the list is just endless.
Lastly, the inclusion of the 'famous five' - Groot Constantia, Delheim, Overgaauw, Simonsig and Nederburg, who have been auction's most important partakers since beginning in the year 1975. Plus, also include two wineries Philip Jordaan and Rooiberg who have come back after so many year's absence and consequently makes its look more useful for everyone be it new or old.
