Rosa Zárate, additionally called Quininde, is an Ecuadorian city; cantonal head of Canton Quininde, in addition to the second one largest and most populated city of the Province of Esmeraldas. It is placed to the north of the littoral region of Ecuador, settled on an in depth undeniable, on the confluence of the Blanco and Quinindé rivers, at an altitude of 85 masl and with a tropical rainy weather of 27 ° C on common. The Rosa Zárate Parish became founded in October 1916, thanks to the control of Captain Don Simon Plata Torres.
The Rosa Zarate parish, from its beginnings with the few households of that time, became a town of small farmers, then with the population growth, it become a compelled step to go to the city of Esmeraldas by means of the Esmeraldas River. Only in 1953, the African palm appears in Ecuador with a plantation of 50 hectares, no longer as a commercial crop but as an alternative with the cause of watching its adaptation to the Ecuadorian ecological conditions.
