Rodby

Rodby is a city and a former municipality on the island of Lolland in Denmark. The former Rodby municipality protected a place of 120 km², and had a total population of 6,590. Its final mayor became Hans Ole Sorensen, a member of the Venstre political birthday celebration. The politics of Denmark take place in the framework of a parliamentary consultant democracy, a constitutional monarchy and a decentralised unitary kingdom wherein the monarch of Denmark, Queen Margrethe II, is head of state. On 1 January 2007 Rodby municipality ceased to exist as the end result of Kommunalreformen "The Municipality Reform" of 2007.

It turned into merged with the existing Holeby, Hojreby, Maribo, Nakskov, Ravnsborg, and Rudbjerg municipalities to form the brand new Lolland municipality. This creates a municipality with a place of 892 km² and a complete resident populace of 49,469. The new municipality is a part of the Region Sjælland. The town of Rodby has a resident populace of 2,110. Rodbyhavn is placed approximately 5 km southwest of the metropolis of Rodby.
