Xinghai Square

Xinghai Square is a city square in Dalian, Liaoning Province, China. It is located to the north of Dalian Bay. It covers a total area of 1.1 million m², making it the largest city square in the world. Its name literally means “the Sea of Stars”.

This square, which brandishes some affected engineering, is the site of Dàlián’s popular beer festival and is a decent place to human watch, fly a kite, or simply walk around.

Adjacent is a little beach and amusement park. From the train station, take tram 201 ¥2; to its west terminus, or faster metro Line 2 ¥1; stop Xi'an, then tram 202 ¥2 three stops. Last return tram 11 pm. A taxi is about ¥20.
