The Ningbo Museum, otherwise called the Yinzhou Museum or the Ningbo Historic Museum, is an exhibition hall in the city of Ningbo in Zhejiang Province, China. It is situated in Yinzhou District and was opened on December 5, 2008. The exhibition hall centers around Ningbo region history and conventional traditions. Ningbo Museum is planned by Wang Shu, the primary Chinese subject to win the Pritzker Architecture Prize in 2012.
Highlights of Jiangnan living arrangements are incorporated into the historical center outline by embellishments produced using old tiles and bamboo. The principal floor of the exhibition hall is built all in all part, while the building begins to tilt on the second floor, giving the entire building a mountain and furthermore a pontoon shape. This outline insinuates the geological component in Ningbo and in addition the significance of over-ocean trade in its history, along these lines making the historical center an image of Ningbo history and culture.
Situated on the second floor of the gallery, this is the primary display of the exhibition hall, demonstrating the historical backdrop of Ningbo from the Hemudu culture until the Republic of China. Significant stories are about old societies, the extension of the city, abroad trade, the advancement of Eastern Zhejiang Scholars and Ningbo Commercial Group. Substantial measure of ancient rarities, noteworthy photos and models are shown.
