About Hualin Temple

Hualin Temple is a Buddhist sanctuary situated in Gulou District, Fuzhou, Fujian, China. After the presentation of Chan Buddhism from China to Japan in the Song administration, the design style of Song line affect Japan conventional social and people traditions. The oldest things in the sanctuary is the Main Hall, which was worked in the early Song tradition. Hualin Temple was first worked with the name of "Yueshan Jixiang Chan Temple" in 964 by the then commonplace legislative leader of Fuzhou Bao Xiurang, under the kingdom of Wuyue in the Five Dynasties and Ten Kingdoms.
During the rule of Emperor Gaozong, he recorded the name on a plaque to the name. The Main Hall in the sanctuary has single-eave peak and hip rooftop secured with dark tiles, which spoke to water at that point and could smother fire. Despite everything it protects the engineering style of the early Song tradition. The Main Hall is 15.5-meter high, three rooms wide, four rooms profound and covers a zone of 574-square-meter. It is rectangular fit as a fiddle with eight purlins and four pillars. It is the earlist wooden engineering in Jiangnan. Tourists come here from all over the world with their family and friends.
