About Rio Maipo Wetland
In 2002, the Municipality of Santo Domingo made through a Municipal Decree - the Río Maipo Wetland Nature Park, in order to shield the biodiversity show in 40 hectares of the wetland, generally, and propel their use in a careful and practical way.
Not long after its creation, the Municipality assented to a coordinated effort course of action with the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile, especially with the Coastal Marine Research Station ECIM, to keep up and update the Park. Under this understanding the essential discernment point or flying animal observatory was created, after the general tenets of the WWT Wildfowl and Wetlands Trust of the United Kingdom for the diagram of this kind of advancement.
