The Lier Belfry And Town Hall

The town lobby and turret at the Market Square in the city Lier, Belgium. The town lobby was worked in Rococo-style and has an excellent pediment which bears the ensign of the city. Against the town corridor stands the turret tower and this pinnacle is the image of the power and the independence of the city Lier.

The official city declarations were broadcasted from the overhang of this pinnacle and the pinnacle itself dates from 1369, a period when the city of Lier turned out to be somewhat prosperous. These days, the steeple tower is the image of the medieval financial extension of the organization of fabric specialists and the last leftovers of what used to be the material corridor.
