Grodno Zoo

Grodno Zoo, is a zoo, located in Grodno in Belarus. Grodno Zoo was based in 1927 as the first zoo in destiny Belarus on the initiative of the excessive faculty teacher Jan Kochanowski. In 1926 Kochanowski, together along with his students, set up a botanical lawn in the town park, which in 1927 obtained the primary animals. The new zoological department had 17 species of local fauna. Nine years later in 1936, Grodno zoo had approximately 400 exhibits.
