About Burgruine Starhemberg

Burgruine Starhemberg is a fortress in Lower Austria, Austria. Burgruine Starhemberg is 520 metres above sea stage. The name is derived from the original call of 'excessive mountain' or Starkenberg. A small citadel become built right here by using Ottokar III, Margrave of Styria among 1140 and 1145. At the time, the Piesting river become the border among Styria and the March of Austria.
