A modern feel and efficiency are two big requirements for air travelers while choosing the best airports across the world. Some airports, which used to be the best years ago, are now overcrowded, while some other airports have either weather problems or they lack sophisticated air traffic control. Airports in India have been spending huge money to upgrade their existing infrastructure. And the efforts have shown results Delhi and Mumbai airports have featured in the list of top 5 airports in the World in the 25-40 million passengers handling capacity category.
1. Govt. of India to Address the Capacity Constraints at Delhi and Mumbai Airport
Delhi and Mumbai airport are considered the busiest airports where capacity constraint is always a problem for new airlines. The issue is raised by the new airlines that they are not provided adequate space at these airports for better operating. Thus, a meeting was conducted which was chaired by Civil Aviation, R N Choubey. As per the decision in the meeting, Ministry of Civil Aviation (MoCA) will from two working groups to address the capacity constraints at these airports. As per report, the Mumbai is the busiest airport where there is no additional runway for the airlines.
The representative of these two groups will work on examining the issue and what actions were taken so far for overcoming them by the airport authority. In representative of these two teams comprises of people from airlines, airport operators and Airports Authority of India (AAI). These tam members will also look for suggesting the better way to improve the constrain issue at these two busiest airports of India. Thus, with the rising capacity constraint at these airport are hitting the new airlines and they demand equal distribution of slots among the airlines.
