The Prado: Madrid

If you are a fan of European arts then, The Prado is a must visit destination as it houses the best works of European arts in the world. The collection in the museum range from as early as 12th century to 19th century. Situates in the capital city of Madrid, it has more than 5000 drawings, 2000 prints, 1000 coins and around 2000 decorative objects. It is most noted for the splendid collection of Diego Velazquez, Francisco Goya and El Greco, few of the finest Spanish painters the world has ever seen. The best art work seen here is the Las Meninas by Velazquez. The building of the The Prado too is very beautiful to be ignored. Commissioned in the year 1785, it is one of the most grand buildings in Madrid.
