Be a Part of Tomatina

If you are in Spain around August, do not miss out on being a part of the famous La Tomatina, a food fight festival. Organized in the town of Bunol, more than 30,000 people take part in this once a year festival. It is estimated that over a metric ton of tomatoes are thrown in the streets on the day. There are certain rules that are to be followed while participating in festival like one is not allowed to bring in anything that might cause a serious injury to anyone, you are supposed to squish the tomato before throwing and that you are not supposed to tear clothes of somebody else. Although the last one is hardly taken into account and people often tear other people's shirts. It is advised that you wear protective eyeglasses if you are planning to take part in the festival. The festivals starts and with a fire of water cannon and last for exactly one hour.
